Energy Futures Webinar: HyDeal Los Angeles

HyDeal Los Angeles (LA) is an initiative of the Green Hydrogen Coalition to create North America’s first mass-scale, end-to-end value chain for green hydrogen. HyDeal LA aims to scale production and multi-sectoral use of green hydrogen, driving down delivered cost in the Los Angeles Basin to USD $1.50/kg by 2030.

Funded by a coalition of green hydrogen ecosystem stakeholders including local electric and gas utilities, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Southern California Gas Company, and a wide range of green hydrogen ecosystem players, HyDeal LA is a unique platform for collaborative ecosystem design. HyDeal LA will help the region overcome infrastructure, regulatory, and commercial barriers to accelerate the green hydrogen economy at scale. In this webinar, we’ll hear from Janice Lin, Founder and President of the Green Hydrogen Coalition and leader of the HyDeal Los Angeles initiative.

In addition to Australia’s expanding range of hydrogen RD&D projects, similar commercialisation platforms may be needed to drive Australia’s local industry, job creation, and long-run global energy and export competitiveness. In this webinar, we’ll also hear from local energy experts on green hydrogen momentum in Australia, and how the insights from HyDeal Los Angeles can be applied to our own green hydrogen ambitions.

Webinar Topics Include:

  • Overview of the HyDeal Los Angeles Initiative and Outcomes

  • Deep dive into the Intermountain Power Project, North America’s largest green-hydrogen powered generation facility

  • Opportunities for the HyDeal model in Australia
