Based in our Berkeley, California office, the Member Relations Associate will provide critical member services and marketing support to the California Energy Storage Alliance (CESA), California’s premier advocacy group for energy storage and clean energy.

POWER SYSTEMS ANALYST - CONSULTING TEAM

Strategen seeks a professional, organized, and highly motivated candidate to join our team as a full-time Power Systems Analyst. Reporting to one of Strategen’s consulting team managers, the candidate would ideally be based in our Berkeley, California office though location is flexible for exceptionally qualified candidates. The Power Systems Analyst would support various engagements with public sector and private sector clients for Strategen’s consulting team, a thought leader on electric grid transformation. We are looking for a candidate that enjoys thinking about the dynamics of a changing grid and the technical complexities of creating market solutions for a cleaner grid that adhere to its technical constraints. We want to find someone who is just as comfortable diving into the details of power systems modeling or codes and standards for new energy technology as they are discussing the big picture implications of their technical analyses.

REGULATORY ANALYST - CONSULTING TEAM

Strategen seeks a professional, organized, and highly motivated candidate to join our team as a full-time Regulatory Analyst. Reporting to one of Strategen’s consulting team managers, the candidate would ideally be based in our Berkeley, California or Portland, Oregon office. The Regulatory Analyst would support various engagements with public sector and private sector clients for Strategen’s consulting team. We are looking for a candidate that enjoys thinking about the dynamics of a changing electric grid and the complexities of creating market solutions for a cleaner grid that are technically and economically viable. We want to find someone who is comfortable diving into complex regulatory proceedings through comments, testimony, and technical reports on key regulatory issues. In addition, we welcome candidates who are also technically savvy and enjoy data analysis and modeling.

ONGOING OPENINGS

Strategen is always on the lookout for qualified candidates for the following roles on our consulting team:

manager

Managers require a strong track record in corporate strategy and project management, with experience working on all stages of strategy-based and analytical projects. Managers are technical experts, with deep understanding of how the grid functions and how to plan for new system resources. Technical expertise in the areas of new grid technologies and clean energy, electric power system planning, policy and regulatory consulting, and/or power sector financial modeling is strongly preferred. In addition, managers are expected to help develop business for Strategen and its lines of business.

Consultant

Consultants have proven analytical and problem solving skills. Consultants are responsible for helping to conceptualize and communicate strategic frameworks for specific problems, and are called on to assist in structuring the work of Analysts. Consultants work closely with clients and client teams to build their problem solving skills in many areas, and make significant contributions to both client work and firm building activities. Consultants are expected to guide small projects autonomously from start to finish on time and within budget. Consultants will typically have several years of relevant industry work experience prior to joining Strategen.

Analyst

Analysts are exposed to a broad range of clients and markets within the renewable energy and clean technology fields. Analysts are responsible for supporting Strategen engagement teams with primary and secondary market research, and basic spreadsheet analysis and data analysis, while assisting Consultants and Managers with firm building and sales tasks. Analysts will hone their problem solving, client engagement, and communication skills while collaborating closely with diverse project teams. Analysts are also expected to develop and maintain a network of professionals in the energy sector.

INTERN

Interns get exposure to energy policy work, new grid technologies, and professional development opportunities. Successful interns have a strong academic background at the undergraduate or graduate level, a demonstrated commitment to renewable energy and grid transformation, and strong writing, research, coding, and/or website development/graphic skills.
